Anne Desiree Armanda Theotis

Managing Partner

Anne Desiree Armanda Theotis is the Managing Partner of the firm and has over 28 years of distinguished practice as an Advocate. She is widely respected for her extensive litigation experience before all levels of the Zambian courts where she has successfully represented clients in complex and high value matters.

Complementing her courtroom expertise Amanda is also a seasoned Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practitioner, serving as an Arbitrator, Adjudicator and Mediator. She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and is listed on both the local and international panels of the Lusaka International Arbitration Centre (LIAC) and CIArb.

As Managing Partner she combines deep legal knowledge with a commitment to professional excellence, guiding the firm’s strategic direction while fostering a culture of integrity innovation and client focused service.

Joy-Rachel Mutemi-Mondoka, Partner and Head of Theotis Mutemi Legal Practitioners Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, is a highly skilled attorney with over a decade of experience at the Zambian Bar. She has built a formidable reputation in civil and commercial litigation, banking and financial services law, corporate governance, and alternative dispute resolution.

Renowned for her assertiveness, precision, and client-focused approach, she has successfully represented clients in high-stakes matters before the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Zambia. She has secured precedent-setting judgments in banking and employment law, with her practice extending to corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, receiverships, liquidations, and company secretarial advisory for major financial institutions.

Joy-Rachel holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law

Natasha Mutambo, Associate Partner and leads our Corporate Department with distinction. She is an extremely accomplished advocate of the Supreme Court with over 7 years extensive legal experience marked by her ability to navigate and resolve complex legal matters with exceptional proficiency.

She specialises in Tax Law however, her expertise spans diverse practice areas, including merges and acquisitions, corporate and commercial advisory, banking and finance, mining and construction, intellectual property and international trade.

Natasha successfully guides local and international clients through complex transactions, regulatory compliance, and structured financing arrangements. She also provides tailored legal solutions to businesses in key sectors such as energy, mining, construction banking and tourism.

Ethel Thelma Z Changufu Associate - Litigation Ethel Thelma Changufu is an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia specializing in Family Law, Labour and Employment, and Commercial Litigation. She also offers arbitration services for effective dispute resolution. Ethel leads units handling employment disputes, family and divorce matters, land and property conflicts, and general commercial litigation. Her approach is strategic and client-focused, grounded in integrity and efficiency.	Melissa Phiri Senior Associate \| Litigation and Dispute Resolution Melissa is a litigation and dispute resolution specialist with seven years of experience, focusing on civil and commercial cases and alternative dispute resolution. She advises individuals and corporations on contract enforcement, land disputes, and commercial transactions. Melissa holds an LL.B and an LL.M in Commercial Law, combining strong academic knowledge with practical expertise to provide strategic, client-focused legal	Nandi Lourna Moyo Associate - Litigation With nearly four years of experience in commercial litigation, financial regulation & intellectual property, leads the Debt Recovery Unit, advising financial institutions on high-value debt enforcement & handling cases from pre-litigation to judgment enforcement in the High Court & Subordinate Courts. She also provides legal opinions on liquidation & banking compliance & advises on intellectual property matters. She holds an LL.B from the UNILUS.

Memory Matasi – Chiile Senior Associate – Conveyancing & Land Transactions \| Probates, Intestacy & Trusts \| Immigration & Citizenship Memory Matasi-Chiile is a legal practitioner with over six years at the Zambian Bar, leading the Conveyancing and Land Transactions, Probates and Trusts, and Immigration and Citizenship Units within the Corporate Division. She is recognized for her meticulous and efficient handling of complex land transactions and migration regulatory matters.	Francis Mwewa Associate - Corporate & Conveyancing Francis Mwewa, Advocate of the High Court of Zambia, specializes in Corporate and Conveyancing law. Starting his career at this firm, he now advises local and international clients on corporate governance, commercial transactions, intellectual property, employment law, and cross-border investments. Francis also serves as Company Secretary for multiple companies, guiding boards on compliance and strategic governance. He holds a Bachelor	Esther Nyirenda Advocate Esther Nyirenda recently joined Theotis Mutemi Legal Practitioners as an Advocate in the Corporate Department, following her successful call to the Zambian Bar.
